A
sample of our community needs assessments is provided below. Projects
have
included identifying community health needs among women, children
and communities of color and changes in HIV/AIDS cases nationwide.
We have identified capacity-building needs among LGBTQ foundations
and developed evaluation capacity among organizations’ staff
members. Korwin Consulting has conducted market research to support
expanded programming to institutionalized populations as well as
facilitated strategic planning efforts to increase school-readiness
among young children. We have trained surveyors to conduct a large
countywide survey of homeless individuals and developed client information
systems to capture key program data.
San
Jose Family/Domestic Violence Advisory Board

|
The
City of San Jose’s Family/Domestic
Violence Advisory Board works to inform and educate policymakers
and the public about the impact of domestic and intimate partner
violence on the well-being of the community; and
raises awareness through activities, forums, and public service campaigns to
educate and encourage community-wide participation in preventing and reducing
violence in community members’ lives.
Korwin
Consulting is strengthening the Advisory Board’s capacity
to use data for collaborative planning, and to identify and
strength system-level responses to domestic violence. Through
development of a resource inventory, outcome-based planning,
and evaluation design, Korwin Consulting is positioning the
Advisory Board to better meet its mission. |
Bread & Roses

|
Bread & Roses
brings free, live, quality entertainment to people confined
in institutions or isolated from society. Interested in reaching
more adults and children throughout the Bay Area, B&R
contracted with Korwin Consulting to conduct a market analysis.
Korwin
Consulting analyzed B&R’s current portfolio
and identified prospective organizations throughout the Bay
Area. Through a combination of surveys, key informant interviews,
and an analysis of data available on current organizations,
we provided B&R with information that will enable them
to implement strategic growth in the upcoming years. |
The
California Wellness Foundation

|
In
implementing its Women’s Health priority area, TCWF
seeks to define the universe of women’s health clinics
in California, and to better understand the complex factors
that affect them.
Working
in association with Schacht & Associates, Korwin Consulting
conducted key informant interviews and a web-based literature
review, and identified women’s clinics throughout
California. Findings from the study will be used to better
target foundation resources, and to inform decisions regarding
funding and technical assistance to these clinics. |

Southwest
Community Health Center
|
The
Southwest Community Health Center (SCHC), a community-based
primary health care provider, receives more requests for health
care services than they can provide. And the demand keeps
growing. SCHC contracted with Korwin Consulting to see whether
and how they might expand to best meet this growing need.
Through
a combination of demographic data and service utilization
research, key informant interviews and community resident
surveys, Korwin Consulting provided SCHC with information
upon which to consider their expansion plans. |
